Empty Religiosity

It seems that there is entirely too much emptyness in the church. The cycle of confess, sin, feel convicted, confess, sin, feel convicted, etc. is something that needs to be broken. The church (and one's own life) have to be consumed by a radical desire to KNOW the Lord, not just the empty death of hollow religiosity. Where is the radical pursuit of the Lord? Where is the travail in intercession? Where is the pursuit of the manifest presence of God? Where is the joy of living so saturated in Him that He pours out on the believer what they could never hope to see done on their own?

The days of controlling how much God is in one's life need to be changed to the radical adventure of saturation in the Word, being consumed in His presence, faith expressing itself in love, and joy unspeakable by partaking in Him. When life ceases to be the death of trying to get stuff from the world, people, etc. and changes to be radical overflow of Him that impacts the world is when religion changes to be real relationship in Him!! It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. It is the glory of kings to search a matter. Who will leave all else behind in comparison to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ as Lord?!! He can be found if He is sought out!

yes! yes! yes!!
those were the observations of my own life before i'd heard of lighthouse. I used different words, but it's essentially the same thing. my big question was, where is the abundant life God promised? why does nobody seem to have it?
now, since lighthouse, and stepping up my own active relationship with the Lord, I can see how active and desperate seeking makes such a difference!
