Pride/insecurity
I am convinced that pride and insecurity are intimately linked. If a person allows themselves to dwell on how they compare better than others, they are bound to also find others that are better than them. The key is to walk in love rather than comparison.

oh so true. I used to be really insecure, and i would always be comparing myself with others.
I don't know if i would have said pride had to do anything with it at the time, but i can see it more in retrospect.
